TEKTON 2841

Electronic Repair Screwdriver Bit Set - 135-Pieces

Since I'm going to be reviewing several products here soon, I wanted to start off with a product that is one of my very favorite recent purchases. I've owned many screwdrivers and bit sets over the years, and I have to say that the Tekton 2841 screwdriver and bit set is hands down the best screwdriver and bit set I've ever even seen. Its collection of bits is astounding - it even includes the 5 pointed star bits (aka pentalobe #1 and #5) for Apple devices. The bits seem to be made of quality steel, and the case they come in holds them very well.

There is also a set of smaller bits that I didn't think I'd use, but it turns out they come in handy pretty often. I also like that they're in their own carrying case.

My favorite feature about the whole set though is in the ratcheting screwdriver itself. It has the usual 3 position switch like most do, but it really caught me of guard with an incredible feature that I've never seen before in a ratcheting screwdriver: a near zero-slop ratchet. Normally when the ratchet clicks, there is some slop that allows it to turn backwards a little bit. It's usually not much, but I was very surprised at how much better this one is with what is very close to zero slop. It's extremely smooth and quiet while ratcheting, and there is no perceptable backlash when it's turned back in the non-ratcheting direction.

In summary, this is a tool that should be in everyone's house. It's relatively inexpensive (about $35-$45), has the most extensive set of bits I've ever seen in a set like this, and it is very well made. If you're interested, check it out here:
